Know Your Rights Webinar

Monday December 7th from 6-7:00 pm join the LIHBA for a Know Your Rights webinar in Special Education Law where we will have Sonia Mendez-Castro, Esq. a Partner at Regina Skyer & Associates and Alicia Gerez, Esq. law clerk to the Hon. Alison Tuitt as panelists. Sonia Mendez-Castro has spent her career devoted to special education law seeking appropriate educational services for students with disabilities. Alicia Gerez whose own personal experiences raising a daughter with special needs led her to become an advocate for her own child as well and assist other parents in navigating what can feel like an overwhelming process. The program will cover how to request an initial evaluation for special education services, how to prepare for and participate in a Committee on Special Education (CSE) Meeting and how to review an Individualized Education Program (IEP). The program will be held in both English and Spanish.
