Vanessa was born and raised in Long Island, New York. She is a first-generation American Latina. Her mother is from Colombia and her father is from El Salvador. In 2014, she graduated cum laude from CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities & Justice Studies. In 2016, she graduated from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. While in law school, she interned with The Legal Aid Society – Immigration Unit, Latino Justice PRLDEF, the Deportation Defense Clinic at Hofstra Law, and the Rivera Julka Law Group, PC in Bay Shore, NY. She was also a judicial extern with the New York Immigration Court. She is currently a Law Clerk at Jadeja-Cimone Law, PC in Hempstead, NY. She is a proud Latina who loves working with the immigrant community.
