Experienced Spanish Speaking Immigration Attorney

The Terezakis Law Firm, PLLC,  is an established immigration, crimmigration, and criminal defense law firm, located in Mineola, NY.  We are seeking an experienced immigration attorney, preferably with at least 3 years of experience, to work with us, primarily on our family-based immigration cases. The candidate would be responsible for cases involving I-130s, I-485s, I-601As, and waiver applications,  as well as U-visas, and VAWA self-petitions. The attorney may also make court appearances at the New York City Immigration Courts. Trial experience – especially with Legal Aid or a District Attorney’s Office – is a plus, as is prior experience with appeals to the BIA or with petitions for review.

We do not have a “high-volume” practice. We are committed to providing individualized, high quality, representation to our clients. Our attorneys and paralegals work together in a collaborative, team based, approach. We enjoy helping our clients favorably resolve even the most difficult cases.   We provide ongoing Continuing Legal Education to our attorneys and paralegals, and are committed to their professional advancement. We are active in the immigrant community.  Our client base is primarily Spanish speaking,  from Central and South America.

We are seeking an attorney who is passionate about advocating for noncitizens, who works well with others, and who is committed to providing high quality legal representation. Requirements for this position:

  • JD from a U.S Law School
  • Admitted to New York State Bar
  • Bilingual : English/Spanish, preferred;  candidates fluent in Spanish may also apply
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • At least 3 years experience with family-based immigration law
  • Ability to handle your own case load, work collaboratively, and meet deadlines
